Castle Cove

Watermark- an over 55’s living community nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the lower North Shore, Sydney.  Fresh Landscapes assisted in stage 2 of this project, creating green spaces on multiple levels of this tiered complex.  From ground level courtyards and balcony planters to internal planter boxes and a communal area integrating into stage 1.

Heavy excavation was required to prepare this site, With the Fresh Landscapes team cutting down 1.2 metres deep into bedrock for the communal gardens, pond, spiralling granite footpath and basement driveway ramp. Large sandstone boulders were retained and reused through out the project to construct walls and add features throughout the landscape.

The aspect and levels of the property mean very little sun exposure for the large communal garden area to the south of the building. To combat this a range of shade tolerant and loving plants such as Dicksonia Antrarctica, Philodendron ‘Xanadu”, Arthropodium ‘Matapoura Bay’ and Eriostemon were utilised.
